Buckinghamshire based soprano, Hannah Dobra, graduated with distinctions  from a Masters in Advanced Vocal Studies with Dennis O’Neill at the Wales International Academy of Voice (WIAV). Hannah attended Chetham’s School of Music and took her DipABRSM in voice here. She went on to study for a BA in Philosophy at The University of Nottingham where she was a founding member of their opera society. In 2014 Hannah was selected to train on English National Opera’s (ENO) professional development programme Opera Works.

Hannah's most recent roles were Karolka for Aylesbury Opera, Queen of the Night for Kennet Opera's Magic Flute, and the title role in Guildford Opera's NODA award winning Lakme. Previous opera performances include LoLo/Olga (cover) The Merry Widow (Ryedale Festival Opera), Anne Page The Merry Wives of Windsor (Brent Opera),  Bessie Throckmorton/May Queen Merrie England  (Chelmsford City Opera), Annina La traviata (Chelmsford Opera), Belinda Dido and Aeneas (Benslow Baroque Opera) and Papagena/Queen of the Night (cover) The Magic Flute (OpSoc). Scenes for City Opera and Opera Works include the roles of Lucia The Rape of Lucrezia, Sophie Der Rosenkavalier, Adele Die Fledermaus, and Dorinda Orlando. Hannah also performed in Landscape, a newly devised work by members of the Opera Works course, combining scenes from operas by Handel, Mozart, Beethoven and Britten.

During her time at WIAV Hannah sang Violetta's first aria at the BBC Hoddinott Hall and the parts of Gilda in Bella figlia dell'amore  and Lucia in Chi mi frena in tal momento at the Wales Millennium Centre. Other concert and oratorio solo highlights are Messiah (St. Martin’s Ruislip), Mozart’s Missa Solemnis (Our Lady Immaculate, Chelmsford) and Rutter’s Requiem (United Reform Church, Chelmsford).

Hannah is grateful to have had the chance to sing in master classes and to have coached  with Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Sir Richard Bonynge, Yvonne Kenny, Ryland Davies and Nellie Miriciou. Hannah has been generously supported by the Belinda Starling Memorial Fund through the Essex Education Foundation, City Wall Productions, The Derek Shuttleworth Memorial fund and the Dennis O'Neill foundation.

Currently Hannah studies with Arwel Treharne Morgan and is a singing teacher at Berkhamsted School.
